Bought a Pure Sine Wave inverter recently for use for my trip back and also for a future solar set up.
Its a Micro Solar INV-1000PS Rated for 1000W Continuous Power with a 2000W Surge Power.
I forgot to mention the 2000W Surge Power is for things that need a boost of power on initial start up. Such as some fan motors might make a sound on first start up then settle down silent. Its them pulling more power than their max to start up then settle back down to their rated specs. Other things that may do this are things like anything with a refrigeration compressors, but in some way everything does this transformers (which are in the power supplies) require extra boost to get going. But some of the ones I mention such as fans or compressors are the more heavy starters.
I talk about in the video that one is dirty power (modified sine) and the other is clean (pure sine). Pure sine is like what comes out of your basic wall power from your utility company. While modified is just a cheap way of converting 12volt (DC Power) to 110-120volts (AC Power).
“Most of the equipment on the market is designed for use with (pure) sine waves. Some appliances, such as microwaves, drills, clocks or speed motors will not produce full output if they don’t use (pure) sine wave current, moreover they may damage the equipment. Some loads, such as light dimmers will not work without (pure) sine wave at all.” As one website put it. So if you ran a microwave it would take twice if not longer to warm up a cup of water for example then it would plugged in a pure sine wave or your normal shore power.
Another website is a fair read on the subject.
There are other articles you can look up and go into more details.

I did not crate those videos, so credit to the one that did, YouTuber knurlgnar24.
I plan to use this to keep warm on my trip, and later in the future to use this in a starter solar set up.
1000W I already know wont be enough for everything so in time I may go with a Go Power Branded Inverter in the future with the outputs I would need but that’s in the future.
If you want to look at some Go Power Pure sine inverters http://tinyurl.com/ksbo964
They are indeed allot more money. But they are properly built and used by even some well known RVers such as Gone with the Wynns which also have a Go Power Inverters. They even made a good video about Inverters that are worth a watch. They are also a couple of silly cheerful RVers always worth a watch any time any subject.
Here is a link to there video. http://youtu.be/mi1gLrlR-Co
Again give credits and thanks to them.
