Preliminary Amplifier Built on Microcircuit Model K157UD2 Manufactured in Russia A preliminary amplifier is an electric device amplifying signals to be further processed by the power amplifier. Low-current signal sources include the following devices: microphones, pickups, players, receivers, and other low output voltage sources. An example of such a device is a simple schematic of a preliminary amplifier for a microphone built on operational amplifier K157UD2 manufactured in Russia. The microcircuit is a low-noise two-channel operational amplifier of medium accuracy. It has a short circuit protection at the output. The microcircuit includes 53 integrated components. The microphone amplifier is necessary to amplify signals of extremely low values. The input resistance of the amplifier is usually selected to be three times greater than the internal resistance of the microphone itself. On this schematic the operational amplifier is connected according to the inverting amplifier scheme. The amplification factor is determined by the ratio between resistors R1/R2 and equals 100. The amplifier works at input voltage of 1 millivolt in the operating band of 30 to 30 000 Hz. The maximum output voltage is 7V. Operational amplifier model K157UD2 can be used as a preliminary amplifier for a power amplifier. In this application the microcircuit is well matched with the power amplifier with a two-pole feed of 15 to 30 V.
