Here’s how to tune up a Royal Enfield Bullet Motorcycle. I go over the static method of setting the point gap and ignition timing. This is the tune-up procedure recommended by the Royal Enfield company. To set the point gap, remove the points cover and turn the engine around until the points are open their widest. Then set them to .40 mm, making sure the feeler gauge goes in and out with a little bit of resistance. Setting the timing is outlined in the video. I used the official Royal Enfield tool to measure the height of the piston, and then set it so that the points close at .8 mm before top dead center. This is a good time to examine your spark plug and clean or replace it. Once you’ve done this tune up to your Royal Enfield Bullet, take your Royal Enfield Bullet Motorcycle for a ride to check for any loss of power or pinging from the engine.
